About Scorpio Zodiac Sign
The eighth sign of the zodiac is Scorpio, and this should not be taken lightly, nor should Scorpios! Those born under this sign are, in their mission to learn about others, dead serious. For Scorpios, there is no fluff or chatter, either; these people can zero in on the important questions, gleaning the secrets that lie inside.
The Scorpio zodiac sign concerns itself, and is not afraid of either, of beginnings and ends. In a world that is black and white and has no use for grey, they even fly. Scorpios' enthusiasm is immeasurable, which is perhaps why they are such adept investigators.
People with a Scorpio horoscope are fond of seeking and learning how to get to the bottom of things. Of course, the fact that they have a keen sense of intuition helps.
Scorpio : Symbol Myth
The constellation known as Scorpio goes back to Babylonian times, where it was named "the creature with the burning sting." Scorpio includes the red star Antares, which means "Mars' rival," and is also called "the Scorpion's heart." This powerful fixed star is seen as having an extreme Mars-like quality in various astrological and magical practises.
The Scorpion is synonymous in Greek mythology with the death of Orion. There are several variants of this storey, but the one linked to Scorpio tells the storey of a boastful hunter, Orion, who bragged that all the animals in the wild kingdom could be killed.
The goddess of the world, Gaia, objected and sent a Scorpion to stop Orion. He challenged and battled the Scorpion, but died when he was stung in the head by the great beast. The Scorpion was raised in the heavens for his service as a reward from Gaia, and Zeus also placed Orion there to commend his valiant combat.
Scorpio: Season
The Scorpio season in the western tropical zodiac begins on October 23, starting in the Northern Hemisphere in the middle of autumn. This is the time of year when the heat and light of the sun are starting to decline, with the darkness of night beginning to outweigh the hours of daylight.
From this stage, towards the Winter Solstice, the days continue to decrease in length. It is during the time of Scorpio that, on holidays such as Halloween, Samhain, All Saints Day and El Dia de Los Muertos, many world cultures observe themes of death and rebirth. In the mystery and melancholy of the Autumn season, Scorpio's connection with inward reflection, shadows, and transformation is mirrored.
Scorpio in Fixed Mode
Scorpio is the third of the four fixed zodiac signs, all of which, in the central phase of the four seasons, hold the elemental energy of endurance and stability. When the season is most' fixed' and established, Scorpio begins in the middle of Autumn, lending to the deep, tenacious, and obsessive tendencies of Scorpio.
Scorpio in Water Element
The personality traits of Scorpio are related to its element, which is water, the second heaviest element, thought to be the fluid, adaptive yet tangible form of matter by ancient astrologers. The moistening and cohering concept that links and connects all aspects of nature is expressed by water.
Nothing that takes a material shape could "stick" together without it. Water fertilises the world so that it may incubate and bloom with nature and innovation. The ingenuity, intuition, imagination, and powerful investigative forces of Scorpio are all akin to the water element's strengthening connectivity.
Scorpio : Domicile of Mars
Mars is the celestial lord of both Aries and Scorpio in classic astrology. With Mars seeking a second nocturnal home in brooding and hidden Scorpio, Aries was thought to be the day, or Mars' diurnal home.
In Scorpio, in the warrior-like tendencies of this symbol, Mars has complete affinity and strength, but since it is in its nocturnal home, these forces take on a more hidden and covert expression. In a slower, cooler, and more measured use of rage and drive, this placement provides.
Scorpio is more patient than the brash and bold Aries, and emotionally and mentally complex. Those born with Mars in Scorpio, to exercise control behind the scenes, can be more tactical and observant. This tenacious and fixated archetype is adapted to the motto "revenge is a dish best served cold."
Scorpio Ruler: Pluto
The planet Pluto, named for the god of the underworld, was discovered in human history at a crucial period. Found by astronomer Clyde Tombaugh in 1930, by hypotheses of a trans-Neptunian planet, Pluto emerged out of darkness. Many strong Plutonian synchronicities, such as major world wars, the discovery of deep psychology, and the division of the atom, were taking place in the world at the time. Humanity was saddled by the latter discovery with the duty and capacity to unleash mass destruction never seen before.
Pluto was assigned as a co-ruler of Scorpio by astrologers of the modern period, because its dark themes of strength, devastation, and inner exploration were close to the themes explored by this enigmatic archetype. The Plutonian sub-signature of Scorpio combined with the assertive force of Mars makes this archetype best suited to addressing and transforming personal and collective trauma.
Scorpio: Ruling Body Parts
The reproductive system, sexual organs, bowels, bladder, excretory system and rectum are regulated by this symbol. This lot could just have a higher sex drive than the rest of us, even applicable to individuals with heavy Scorpio shown in birth chart areas.
They also have a strong knowledge of transition, and the shit that lies underneath the surface.
