About Aquarius Zodiac Sign
The eleventh sign of the zodiac is Aquarius, and the perfect representatives of the Age of Aquarius are Aquarians. Those born under this sign of the horoscope have the necessary social consciousness to carry us into the new millennium. Humanitarian, philanthropic, and keenly interested in making the world a better place are those of the Aquarius zodiac sign. They would like to make the world work better along those lines, which is why they focus much of their energy on our social institutions and how they operate (or don't function).
Visionaries, progressive souls who love to spend time thinking about how things can be better, are aquarians. In this process, they are also quick to engage others, which is why they have so many friends and acquaintances. For Aquarians, making the planet a better place is a collective endeavour.
Aquarius Symbol Myth
One of the oldest of our modern zodiac is the constellation of Aquarius, the Water Bearer. Back in Babylonian times, the constellation of Aquarius was associated with the protective god who bore an overflowing water vase.
Aquarius was associated with the flooding of the Nile by the Egyptians, which was thought to happen when the Water Bearer dipped his pitcher into the great river. The swelling of the Nile then corresponded to the beginning of Spring, a fertile period of development following the region's flood of water.
Aquarius was related to the mythological youth Ganymede in Greek mythology, who was the son of Tros, the king of Troy. The claim to fame of Ganymede came when Zeus transported him to Mount Olympus, to be the gods' cupbearer.
Aquarius Season
The Aquarius season starts on January 21 in the western tropical zodiac, beginning with the middle and heart of winter in the Northern Hemisphere. This is the time of year when the sun is at its lowest power, heat, and light, Leo's planetary ruler. This can provide the Aquarian archetype with cool and remote qualities, which during the cold, insular season appears to be more thoughtful and imaginative.
Aquarius in Fixed Mode
Aquarius is the last of the four fixed zodiac signs, all of which, in the middle phase of the four seasons, possess the elemental force of resilience and stability. Aquarius starts in the middle of winter, when the season is most "fixed" and formed, lending the formidable Aquarian intellect to its tenacious, immovable, and somewhat stubborn tendencies.
Aquarius in Air Element
The element of Aquarius is air, a light, dispersive element, thought to be an abstraction of matter by ancient astrologers that represents formlessness and dissolution. The affinity of Aquarius for creativity, ingenuity, and intellectual concentration is akin to the aspect of active, flowing air.
Aquarius : Domicile of Saturn
Saturn has been given rulership of both Aquarius and Capricorn in classical astrology. Aquarius was thought to be Saturn's daily/day home, an intelligent air sign that enables Saturn to be a planetary force as scrutinising, discerning, and impartial as it likes to be when put there.
Those born with Saturn in Aquarius would likely have enormous intellectual discipline powers that can be well applied to research, administration, or social and judicial authority positions. Those born with the stern instructor in his daily home can naturally take on these qualities when it comes to Saturinan matters of objectivity, perseverance, and patience.
Aquarius: Ruling Body Parts
Although their nervousness is more of an external nature, Aquarians are a nervous sign, being that their bodies simply can not keep up with the activity of their minds. The ankles are the joint that connects the whole upper body to the feet that bind the body to the ground, and an Aquarian is like a human go-between for earth and space life, like the ankles. They are spasmodic; their knees, shins, and ankles are evidence, as when their body needs a minute to catch up, they can get a good zap of a charley horse.
