Phool Dei
According to the Hindu Panchang, the festival of Phool Dei is celebrated during the month of Chaitra on its first day. Young girls participate in the celebrations with excitement, and mark the arrival of the season Spring. A special ceremonial sweetened pudding made of Jaggery or Gur, Curd and White Flour is made and distributed by the girls.
Kumauni Holi
Kumauni Holi is a cultural festival celebrated on the day of Holi with great fervour and enthusiasm in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand. It signifies the victory of good over evil as well as the beginning of the sowing season after winters. The rituals of Cheer Bandhan or Cheer Dahan (Holika Dahan), Chharadi (Holi) and Shubh Kamna are followed by the Kumaon natives. The colours are naturally made with dried flowers, and applied to each other, and prayers are recited in unison.
Ganga Dussehra
Ganga Dussehra commemorates the descent of the holy Ganges, and is celebrated with great passion by people. Visitors from the country and abroad visit Haridwar on this day to take a holy dip in the Ganga and perform the Aarti. It is believed that taking a holy bath in the Ganges helps to purify mind, soul and body. It is one of the major holidays in Uttarakhand, and marks the beginning of the 9-10 day long celebration.
Harela

This day marks the commencement of the monsoon or rainy season and celebrates the marital union of Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva.
