Bombay Stock Exchange or BSE
BSE Holiday List 2020 explains that BSE i.e. Bombay Stock Exchange or famously abbreviated as BSE was founded on 9 July, 1875 by the late Premchand Roychand as the “Native Share and Stock Brokers' Association”. It is regarded as one of the oldest stock exchanges in Asia. The currency it deals in is Rupees. BSE encompasses a market capital of around US$2.2 trillion or more as per the research. The list of BSE comprises of up to 6000+ companies, which is why it is enlisted with some of the world’s greatest exchanges such as the London Stock Exchange Group, New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), Japan Exchange Group, NASDAQ and so on. It is established in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. BSE has actively helped Indian capital markets, economy and corporate sector rise.
Bombay Stock Exchange remains closed on Saturdays, Sundays and above mentioned BSE holidays. It follows three main sessions, where the investors can place an order to buy, modify or cancel their orders as per the opening and closing price. Below is the time:
- Pre-Opening Session: Between 9:00 AM to 9:15 AM
- Normal Session: Between 9:15 AM to 3:30 PM
- Post-Closing Session: Between 3:40 PM to 4:00 PM
